Fiero 2.8 Borla exhaust with a 3800na (Page 1/1)

So, I have Borla exhaust for the Fiero 2.8L that I was going to put in the girlfriends car... Now I get to pull the motor because of the crappy oil pan gasket is puking oil in the driveway... I picked up an 88 2.8L with 65K miles on it and it should be good enough for her... but now I am thinking of doing it as a 3800na swap since I have to pull the motor...

I think the 3800na exhaust is 2.25 diameter and I think the 2.8L Borla setup is 2.25 diameter... If so, is the Fiero Borla exhaust big enough to support the 3800na or do I just get rid of the Borla?

1) I know that I will have to build headers to route the exhaust on the 3800na back to the stock Fiero location, that should be a treat.
2) Don't tell me that I should just throw a SC motor in there since it is the same amount of work. I already know that, she is already got a heavy foot and I know she doesn't need the HP gain, but it would be easier for me to work on...

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Go with the SC, just leave the belt off. She'll never know!!

The Borla exhaust should be fine.

The non-supercharged 3800's are much less sensitive to restrictive exhaust systems than the supercharged 3800s are. You should be safe using your Borla system with a 3800 N/A swap.
