To start its an 86 SE 2.5 4cyl 5 speed. I must be missing something, probably something simple, but to me it's obvious it does not have a cable so it would have to be a sensor that runs the speedometer. I have looked at every parts store I can think of including the fiero store but cannot find anywhere that has a speedometer sensor for it.

Do a search for 'VSS' or vehicle speed sensor.
chances are the sensor is fine and the connector is the problem.[This message has been edited by Gall757 (edited 04-10-2022).]

No I didn't, ill try that, but I would have thought speedometer sensor would have pulled something up, let me see how that works

when doing a search, be sure to check the options....and include the archives. There are hundreds of posts about the VSS.

For some reason search hadn't worked on here for a while, at least not for me, don't know why

A new VSS at Autozone? Not likely. You may find a used one in the MALL section of this forum, but there may be nothing wrong with the one you have.
