3800 SC - 5 speed flywheel (Page 1/1)

Good morning everyone

In the midst of getting an F23 swap done to replace the 282 trans.

The flywheel appears to have some discoloration from heat. It never vibrated, didn't have any clutch slippage issues. Should I bother to resurface it or replace it if it "felt" perfectly fine? Is some discoloration normal?

thx

While you're in there do it. Are you getting a new clutch? If not what one are you using? Going to the F23 can pose some clearance issues with some 282 Clutches.

Yea, replacement is best but you can resurface it at a machine shop for a lot cheaper.

thx

will be getting it turned down at a machine shop. Going with a Spec 3 clutch specific for F23/3800. I think it includes a new HTOB and spacer
