Is SeaFoam bad for the injectors or anything else in our old cars ?
olejoedad APR 29, 02:31 PM

I would never use Seafoam.

That’s why I asked, since my car sat for 29 years I was wondering if I should run some kind of cleaner , not that I need it, but figured it wouldn’t hurt, unless???

It wouldn't hurt to run the proper amount of Lucas fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank for 3 or 4 tanks.
It will clean the injectors, the fuel lines and intake valves over a period of time.
If you run good quality oil (Valvoline), the lubrication system will also clean up with periodic oil changes.
No need to run synthetic oil, but a quart of Lucas Oil Treatment will help the front and rear main seals and slowly dissolve any gunk in the oil system.
Use a good quality oil filter (WIX) and change the oil every 3000 miles for the first couple of oil changes, then go to every 5000 miles.

Thanks, 13k original miles, use Wix and M1 E free gas

At 300 miles a year I won’t have to change the oil for ten years…lol

Now I just have to find this tick sound and I’m beginning to worry it’s not the exhaust..

Its good for when there is a lot of carbon deposits in your engine, but I wouldnt keep it in the oil for more then a couple hundred miles. I think most people go one tank of gas of hard driving with it before changing the oil. The nice thing about seafoam is that it can be used in the oil and gas tank.

Not a Seafoam fan, at all.

So, what is the issue with Sea Foam? Why is one fuel additive okay, but another is not?
