7730 Wire Harness Routing (Page 1/1)

I have a constant Code 42 that indicates either ICM or EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference). I have replaced the ICM but the code remains. While the engine is out getting a new transmission and clutch, we want to reroute as much of the wiring as possible. In part due to proximity to heat sources that have caused some of the wire loom to melt. The loom isn't the high temp stuff that we will be using to resleeve the wiring.

Does anyone have a diagram available or one they have created for routing of wiring? The coil pack/icm is located where the old coil and distributor was. It's running a knock and crankshaft sensor on the trunk wall. Fan switch doesn't run through the ECM. Cold Start Injector disabled. Cruise Control is stock, AC is stock and not through the ECM.

Other than the Code 42 and the heat issue, the car operates beautifully.

While you are waiting for answers, what performance change did you notice going to the 7730?

Mpg increased about 4 mpg. Starts first time instead of 3 or 4. Steady idle. It seems a little slower at takeoff but I attribute that to the possibility that I had timing advanced more with the distributor. Spark knock is gone.

O.n a recent RFTH scouting run a bunch of Porsches hooked up with us and I feel that with all the thumbs ups and smiles, they were impressed.
