lower ball joints (Page 1/1)

I was fortunate enough (sarcastic) to have my lower ball joints welded into the LCA. must have been later in 88 they did this. I replaced them with Rodneys ball joints. when I pressed them in
they had about an eighth of inch clearance to the circlip. I've read people say that they are not worried because the press fit was tight enough. I wonder if it has been? anyone have a report on how
they made out with this? I'm hoping that I don't have to have these welded. its a PITA to take them out.

The ball joint should be tracked to the LCA, especially if there is any slop between LBJ and LCA.

This can be done from the bottom of the LCA without removing LCA from car.

theres no slop its a tight fit. took some doing to press it in. thanks for the info. guess I'll hafta git er done.

Just a couple of small tack welds around the perimeter.
