so, what has others done when you are mission one of the pushbuttons for the AC/Heater Controls? I am missing 1 button and $70 for the entire unit is a little much for 1 button

Honestly, there isn't much else to do, other than replacing the unit. Nobody makes a replacement button that I'm aware of. You may be able to disassemble it and replace just the button if you can find one. (I would recommend against this unless you're fairly experienced in taking apart things not designed to be serviced. It is easy to damage things beyond repair. Especially 35 year old car parts...)

I've taken one apart to clean the buttons, it wasn't that difficult, but the plastic is 30+ years old now. You can just keep watching eBay for one (or a broken one), or post a 'Want to Buy' thread here in 'The Mall' section.

There is no need to disassemble the unit.

The original button probably just popped off after years of popping out when its cancelled by another button being pushed. It's happened to me a few times and I always find it rolling around on the floor. I just put a small drop of glue inside the button and press it back on.

Take your seats out and make sure its not under there. Especially the passenger seat. Its not hard to do at all and may save you some scratch. Else post in the mall as others have suggested. Lots of guys on here have parts cars and would prolly be willing to hook you up for a lot less than $70.
