Issuses with charging system (Page 1/1)

I have an 87 GT 2.8l v6. A few months a go I was out for a drive. The car was running fine and the check engine light keeps coming on an off. Well it left me and had to have it towed home. Thought it was fuel and topped it off and nothing. Pulled it out of the garage a few weeks ago and with a jump box it started.
Ran for 20 min and stopped running. Jumped it again and rand for five minutes and stopped and nothing sense. So today I pulled it out again and the issue is that with a new battery, plenty of fuel and spark the car will not start. I thought that it may be the alternator or the fuel pump. I have replaced the fuel pu.p but not the alternator. I have both items in hand but I just don't know. Any help would be great. Thanks, Terry

I'm not sure why the heading for a thread about a car not starting is "Issuses with charging system".

Simplest thing to check first are the two fuel injector fuses.

What is your fuel pressure, and how quickly does it drop when power to the fuel pump is cut?

I'd also suspect the ICM. When it goes bad, it will often work for a short while until it heats up again. Does your tach move at all while trying to start the engine?

Full charge battery is 12.6 to ~ 13v.
Alt w/ engine running high 13 to near 15v.
both measured at battery. volt gauge in dash often lies so don't trust that.

⚠️ 12SI alt w/ bad electronics can drain the battery.

Patrick,
The fuses are good. The Tach does move. I have replaced the ICM. Any other suggestions?
