We got a gas problem?

So far I read this and others as Eth-free gas will be harder to get outside of Marine/Rec Dyed Gas not Legal to use on the street because also involves State and Fed Taxes.

Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is Obama Era EPA Scam that killed MTBE to force Ethanol in gas. (MTBE had problem too.)

Got more info, there not going to all 15%.....

Ethanol 10% w gasoline has always been a bad thing for classic cars but many of us are running it with decent success. If the ethanol content goes up to 15% there will be problems with all cars not designed for flex fuels. While the octane numbers will rise unless the PCM's are re-tuned the higher ethanol content will cause a cars engine to run lean. Mileage will decrease and engine damage can result.

Some markets Already have E15 and all pumps w/ this are label for Flex Fuel Vehicles. Many say "Illegal" to use in normal engines or FFV Only. Example:

Many States/areas w/o E15 or E85, most pumps are Simple label w/ 10% or Up To 10% for any or all grades on same hose like:

While selection buttons are have standard yellow octane ratings... (Diesel/Gas are 2 hose type pumps.)

I wish I could find some of that E85 here in Cali- my Uplander van can run on it. Not the Fiero, tho....

That MTBE thing was a scam on it's own; The refineries were having to pay to dispose of it, so they ran BS up the CA EPA's skirts and added it to the gas....A lot of older cars caught fire....Back then there was (Suddenly) 30-40% fire-burned cars in the junkyards. The EPA finally caught on and banned it. It also got into the water supplies around the state.

The oil industry will pay billions to BS people so they can reap (Short-term) profits....so what if the country is burning down every summer....

When the refineries need to update, they stage a fire, then INSURANCE pays for "Repairs" while the Oil industry "Tearfully" raises gas prices. At the moment, the oil industry is being forced to raise gas prices...strangely, their profits are up 40-50%...Must be hell having to raise prices on suckers to gain more income!

E85 is a scam its 27% less efficient than gas you will get 20-30% lower mpg out of it so unless its more than 30% cheaper than regular its not worth it.

Edit: oh i also forgot its actually really bad for the environment vs regular gas.

Reuters climate reporting is now compromised.....

Climate change reporting

In July 2013, David Fogarty, former Reuters climate change correspondent in Asia, resigned after a career of almost 20 years with the company and wrote that "progressively, getting any climate change-themed story published got harder" following comments from then deputy editor-in-chief Paul Ingrassia that he was a climate change sceptic. In his comments, Fogarty stated:[42][43][44]

By mid-October, I was informed that climate change just wasn't a big story for the present, but that it would be if there was a significant shift in global policy, such as the US introducing an emissions cap-and-trade system. Very soon after that conversation I was told my climate change role was abolished.

Ingrassia, formerly Reuters' managing editor, previously worked for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones for 31 years.[45][46] Reuters responded to Fogarty's piece by stating: "Reuters has a number of staff dedicated to covering this story, including a team of specialist reporters at Point Carbon and a columnist. There has been no change in our editorial policy."[47]

Subsequently, climate blogger Joe Romm cited a Reuters article on climate as employing "false balance", and quoted Dr. Stefan Rahmstorf, Co-Chair of Earth System Analysis at the Potsdam Institute that "[s]imply, a lot of unrelated climate skeptics nonsense has been added to this Reuters piece. In the words of the late Steve Schneider, this is like adding some nonsense from the Flat Earth Society to a report about the latest generation of telecommunication satellites. It is absurd." Romm opined: "We can't know for certain who insisted on cramming this absurd and non-germane 'climate sceptics nonsense' into the piece, but we have a strong clue. If it had been part of the reporter's original reporting, you would have expected direct quotes from actual skeptics, because that is journalism 101. The fact that the blather was all inserted without attribution suggests it was added at the insistence of an editor."[48]

Alright how about this 2009 Edmunds article that says the e85 was about .5% cleaner without factoring in the amount of fuel burned to grow harvest and process the corn to make ethenol? https://www.edmunds.com/fue...comparison-test.html
Fiero_Adam JUN 09, 12:06 AM
I knew they were pushing more ethanol. I've seen the price difference gap between ethanol and ethanol-free get wider over the last several months here in Oklahoma. They're trying to keep the price increase lower by adding more corn to your fuel. And the numbers they use for average gas prices around the country is the 10% blended 87 octane. So if you don't use the blends, which I don't in the Fiero, the cost increases have actually been higher.
Supposedly the 15% is safe for newer vehicles, but I don't want it in my 2010 Nissan.
