Ok… been a while since this has been apart and I’m being a little paranoid. Is the axel supposed to be on an angle like this ?

Out of car like that means the knuckle likely tip back vs knuckle position in the car w/ strut etc mounted and could do above.

Sure you have not swapped R & L control arms? That can cause same.

The control arms are stamped L and R. The other side looks ok
