Fiero labeling (Page 1/1)

Just kind of a fun question. Many of the younger kids always mislabel my Fiero GT. I have had kids ask me what is a Pontiac? My Fiero has been called a Ferrari, DeLorean and one person thought is was some kind of new EV. It always cracks me up but also gives me a chance to teach the history of Fiero! What kinds of things have people called your Fiero??
This should be fun. I'm guessing the most common label will be some kind of Ferrari.

Other than someone thinking one of my Fieros was a Toyota (obviously being confused with a MR2), nothing else stands out. However, the descriptive term I've read that I like the most is... The Plastic Fantastic.

[EDIT] By the way, this topic should really have been posted in General Fiero Chat.

Too me the MR2 is nothing compared to Fiero GT. I actually saw a yellow MR2 the other day.
I'm speaking about the design of the car itself
The fast back GT just looks sexier, plain and simple. Thanks for letting me know that this should be on a different board. I thought it was but again I screwed up! The plastic fantastic thing is interesting, never heard that before. Anyhow, thanks for the response. Hope you have a great rest of the summer.

had a few people call mine a ferrari. One of my friend's dad said they were called the "plastic bullet". I get a lot of comments about being so young for having a fiero

I get a lot of people asking how I can afford my car at my age... they probably are thinking its some expensive exotic car.

Someone kept calling mine a rice rocket back in the early 90s.. not sure what that meant.

Neighbor Lady always called my Stock 84 a HOT ROD! I even considered wide white-wall tires (thank goodness they didn't offer 215/60/R14 's)

My 88 GT gets noticed a fair bit, and perhaps surprisingly, most, of ,adult age, even if younger than the car, actually know what it is. I get a lot of "I used to have one of those! way back in the 80's..." and most seem to think it's pretty cool. I get a lot of approving remarks.

But apart from the ones who just ask me what it is, some have misidentified it. There was a kid, maybe 13-14, who asked me if it was a Lamborghini, probably because it was the first unusual car name that came to him. Then there was the old (okay, older than me) guy who for some reason guessed that it was an Aston Martin. And I guess having a silver one doesn't help people identify it, because there was also the guy at the gas station who jokingly asked me where the flux capacitor was...
