F 23 VSS question (Page 1/1)

Hello folks

Who here with a 3800 swap has also swapped the original getrag trans with a F23 I need too ask a few questions relating to the vss signal difference between the two trans and what needs to be done.

I know the original is 4000ppm and the f23 is 24000ppm and I made the speedo conversion circuit but the speed is still way to fast and the car now won’t go about 60kph and shakes yet 0 to 50kph it drives fine. Please advise you have this swap and what you had done. Thanks

You will probably need to have your tune changed to reflect the ~24000 PPM that the magnetic VSS puts out.
I swapped a NV T-550 (Beretta Getrag) into my 4.9 car. The VSS matched the Caddy PCM perfectly.

typically, the 24000 PPM output of the VSS is passed to the PCM, and then the PCM's 4000 PPM output is used to drive the speedometer. you will need to tune the PCM to reflect the PPM count and tire size.

thanks guys. Issue was resolved with PCM programming suggestion.

You said the car shakes when you go fast?

Are your axles fully inserted into the transmission?
Did you tighten the axle nuts at the hubs?
Did you EVER put the vehicle's weight on the hubs without the axle nuts tight?
