FIERO - TEST HEADLIGHT ACTUATOR RELAY (Page 1/1)

DAGNABIT !

I'm going through HEADLIGHT ACTUATOR RELAYS every 3-4 months-
just after the new part's warranty expires (yes, god's a woman and she hates me !).

I spent the morning Google-ing and doing a SEARCH on Pennocks Tech Forum and the Orge's Cave
trying to find a way to TEST the relays.
Lots of pages on relays, but nothing specifically for the 6-prong relay for the relay for Fiero headlights.

I've cleaned out the old goo in the connectors and will add fresh dielectric grease and reassemble for now.

Got my Multimeter in hand, hoping someone smart can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in Advance,

Well, that didn't work -
didn't think it would, but I had to get that off the table before I did anything else.

I manually turned the motor to the HEADLIGHT OPEN position.
It did POWER DOWN to the CLOSED position when i hit the Headlight switch to OFF.

BTW- the motor is a rebuilt motor installed ~ 6 months ago.

I used to swap out the relay from the working headlight to confirm it was a relay problem,
But I Guess I'll just buy a new relay.

INPUT from anybody who has had this ongoing problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Repeated relays fail is likely other things that are killing them.

Like See my Cave, Electric Motors
Or HL motor(s) are dying or binding in them or trying to open the door.
