The thread noted above provides details regarding the '84 SE head removal; I started this topic separately as it might interest more readers.
Here's the corroded bolt head that wouldn't turn using various sockets:
Here's the $25 (50% off sale) Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC - China To Canada, lol!) rusty bolt and nut socket set.
Worked perfectly, just like a socket on a non-corroded head. The upper bolt was removed with a regular 14mm hex socket; the lower bolt with a 12mm tapped on rusty bolt socket.
