ESM 002R GB 16x9 15mm offset rims...seem to be a worthy candidate??? (Page 1/1)

Wheels - ESM 002R GB 16x9 15mm 5x100

Have been having terrible trouble trying to find wide rims to extend my wheels about 2 inches out from where stock is, while keeping the inside wheel well distance pretty close to stock.

these according to my calculations...should be 2.36 inches out from stock, and 0.63 inches further into the wheel well.

Is 0.63 inches a safe amount to keep clear of stock suspension set up?

I have 1986 Fiero SE, also these rims are 57.1mm bore which is what the stock fiero hub is i'm pretty sure

If anyone has some other suggestions for wheels that come out around 2 inches past stock post me a link 🤙

My concern is whether the wheel will clear the rear knuckle. I know that with a 15" wheel, you will hit the knuckle if you try to move the wheel inboard but the larger the wheel, the more clearance since the wheel will basically go over the top of the knuckle. Someone will need to clarify my thoughts but as far as the wheel in question, as long as it clears the knuckle it will be fine. Here is a chart if you haven't seen this yet. If you use a computer, open it in a new tab and you can zoom in. If you use a cell phone, simply zoom in.

Thanks, I have seen that but only now having done a lot more looking into offsets/etc can I understand it.

I guess the best I can do is get down under and do some measurements at this point.

I would really like to get a set of rims on there that extend roughly 2 inches out without having to run adapters/spacers 🤞

What size tires do you plan to use?

I plan on having the tire size roughly come out to stock wheel diameter to make speedo close to factory.

not sure what exact size that would be without having the rim to measure at the moment.

I found also on the ESM website that there is a 15x9 inch option with -20 offset....This would mean the the wheel now sticks out 3.7 inch from stock (which would be bordering on too much lol) but this option would actually gain 0.7 inches clearance on the wheel well side.

There is also a 15x8 +15 offset option which could actually be the sweet spot. This would extend out 1.7 inches from stock, and you would lose only 0.2 inches of clearance on the inside.

Are you running some sort of fender flares or do you simply want the tires to stick out past the stock fender?
H2osiah OCT 22, 04:33 PM
I do not need to worry about fender flares since this fiero rides super high currently.

Wheels are a good 3" below fender lip in the front, and almost 4" in the back.

if i draw a line off the fender flare angle, a protruding wheel should fit the body better than it is stock IMO.
I can then lower it a tad if I desire after with still plenty of room not to hit.

There is Just so much room in this wheel well i'd rather stay stock height and "mad max" the car instead of lowering and tucking the wheels.
