Chatter in back of car casued by a rotational component (Page 1/1)

Greetings,
Another Gremlin jumped out and hopped on board by 86 SE. I have the V6 with a standard trans. I have subtle rattling sound that I can hear while driving at a slow speed, coasting down a grade, and also when I step on brakes while driving at low speed as well as while coasting to a stop. It's definitely a rotational component as the sound decays slowly as I slow down and finally stops with a pronounced click, click, clicking sound until I come to a complete stop and at the very end it sort of makes a groaning sound. Sounds metallic or perhaps the CV boot flexing under stress. Perhaps a brake or a CV axle issue. It even happens when I apply the emergency brakes and bring the car to a stop. So, perhaps someone has already gone down this road and can shed some light on the subject. I recorded that sound with a microphone inside the car and inside he trunk area. The soound file is too large to add to the forum. Thanks for your help.

How many hours long is it?

The size limit for an audio file here is 20 MB. What format is the file?

No doubt your audio is an uncompressed WAV file. Convert it to a 128 kbps MP3.

Dependent on your OS, once you settle on an audio program, it's a very simple process to convert a file.

Sound Converter looks basic enough... if you're running Windows.
