Engine Light not flashing (Page 1/1)
Salsapants DEC 02, 11:42 PM
Hey guys,

Engine light came on, so I went out earlier and tried to get the codes to do some fixing. Only problem is that the engine light doesn't flash to give me any of the codes. It only stays a solid light. I had recently just replaced the EGR valve and trying to see if that might be causing the light. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you jumper the A&B terminals?

If it's not flashing Code 12 with the A/B terminals jumped (and with the ignition ON and the engine not running), then I suspect the ECU (and/or wiring harness) has issues.

I might also add that the ECU has no idea what the EGR valve is doing.

You mean you didn't watch "legs" (oops I mean "A Girl and her Fiero") explain How to retrieve the trouble codes from the ECM on a Pontiac Fiero

My son has been more interested in Fiero maintenance and repair for some reason...heh
The best is the one where she changes the oil and "ACCIDENTLY" spills it all over her shirt...

Hope you are able to resolve that error code.

PS - give her a "like" and subscribe, ya goofballs! (sheesh!)

Awesome! I wasn't expecting it to be that easy! I had thought it would be under the passenger seat or some goofy place.

So I got a code 32, which i would imagine is from the replacement EGR valve.
