3800sc fan control (Page 1/1)

I’ve read that on the 3800sc the fan control is in the ecu and there’s no physical fan switch on the engine like a 2.8? Is there any other way to control the fan? I’ve got a 3800sc and the fan turns on at way too low a temp. It doesn’t come on when you turn the key so it’s not always on like if the ecu doesn’t detect ac hooked up, but it comes on at like 150F and the engine doesn’t get much chance to warm up. I can tell from the oil pressure that the engine rarely gets to a proper temperature.

If I need the ecu flashed how do I go about that? I don’t see a obdii diagnostic port anywhere on the wiring harness? I have the ecu in the trunk of the car. Tuning my Sonic just requires hooking up to that port.

Sounds like the PCM should be reprogrammed, and that the wiring harness wasn't properly assembled.

BTW, the PCM fits nicely in the OEM Fiero location.

Pin 58 and or pin 59 on the blue connector is the obd2 signal wire and its purple. If your harness doent have an obd2 port, buy one and wire it in. I got one off ebay or amazon for $5ish.
