A Transmission that may make it so you can do a longitudinal engine swap the Audi A4 FWD transmission it is a dual clutch automatic from 2018 A4 and just looking in salvage yard it looks like they can be had from $750 and up but not sure on how to control it yet .

copied from Audi world S-Tronic Dual Clutch Automatic (DSG) Transmission
The S-tronic is a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, and in Audi/VW speak, it is referred to as a Direct-Shift gearbox or DSG. This is an automatic transmission that foregoes the traditional torque converter in favor for two clutch packs. It is effectively two transmissions in one case, as the first clutch is for gears 1, 3, 5 and 7, and the second clutch is for gears 2, 4 and 6. When you're in one gear, the respective clutch is engaged, the other free clutch is able to be electronically controlled to pre-select the gears surrounding it. For example, if you're in 2nd gear, the free clutch is readying 1st gear or 3rd gear for an upshift or downshift; this effectively pre-loads the transmission to make gear changes incredibly quickly.

The DSG is the fastest shifting transmission of the lot, and is generally pretty bulletproof. If you're massively increasing the horsepower of the engine, the stock clutches may experience increased wear and begin to slip, much like a regular manual transmission. Upgrade clutch packs are available for people who want to shoot for big power.

I have found a controller for it from HTG tuning https://htg-tuning.com/

Just need an adapter plate built and off we go right!

This is perfect for my Aventador build! Thank you for finding it. The controller is only 1,200 euros. Looks like there are a few dual clutch transaxles for me to look at closely first, but this is going to greatly simplify the install.

Neils88 I am glad it helped you and hope it helps more people I know it helps me with my kit car and it is the best of both worlds

It's a cool idea, though looks like a transmission that would require a frame stretch and potentially losing part/all of the trunk.

Adding it to my list of potential transmissions for other future builds!

Trinten I disagree on the frame stretch as I did my Audi V8 with out stretch and the axle centerline is moved forward it looks like 6 inches and i think a Ls is about 4 inches longer than the Audi V8 but you will need a adaptor plate of about a inch so the axle center line should end up about 1 inch forward of where mine did on my Audi build . see Audi A8 my fiero in construction zone
