I purchased a replacement transmission for my service van from Best Buy. They delivered it to my garage door. After I installed it I left the old one in the same place and they picked it up. They ship it in a reusable container. Also no loading dock required.

Get a 4T80 from the STS / Eldorado line, they have better gearing than the DeVille's.

Thanks for the tip. Will look for Eldorado
Thanks to everyone.

Also you can look up and see which VIN code had the different gear ratio. There are two that are found among the Cadillacs, even within the same line.
In the Caddy's, look at the 8th digit of the VIN.
if it's a "9" it's the 3.71
"Y" is 3.11.

You can also look for 2005 Pontiac Bonneville. RPO FV4 for the 3.71.

If you need any help with sourcing the custom length axles you'll need, feel free to drop me a PM. I can send you a bunch of information that might be helpful.

Thanks Trinton.
Is the 2005 Pontiac Bonny a 4T80 as well?
I will look for the Vin code 9
What years would this come in?
As far as axles will get in touch with you for ideas and sources.
Thanks so much for your time and help.
Have a great dat everyone

The Bonneville GXP version came with the 4T80.

Here is a list of years and models that came with the 4T80 (courtesy of Wikipedia)

3.11:1
1994–2005 Cadillac Deville
1993-2002 Cadillac Eldorado
1993-2004 Cadillac Seville
2006 Cadillac DTS
3.48:1
1995-1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
3.71:1
1996–2005 Cadillac Deville Concours/DTS
1993-2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC
1993-2004 Cadillac Seville STS
1995-1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
2004–2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP
2006-2011 Buick Lucerne V8
2001-2003 Oldsmobile Aurora V8

When you get one, before swapping it in, I would strongly recommend a rebuild. One of the common issues on this transmission in the Caddy's was the axle seal wearing out from suspension movement, and it would leak transmission fluid while in motion. There is (was) an aftermarket fix that was more permanent, it was documented on a Caddy forum. It's a little more work than a standard rebuild kit for it.

My intention is to differently rebuild it before installing. I didn't know the GXP came with transmission.
Also thanks for the list of cars this came in. It will help a lot to locate one.
Thanks again and have a great evening.
