I can not seem to locate a new 88 GT master brake cylinder. Does anyone know where to find one ? If I can not locate one is there a substitute cylinder that would work?

The 88 master cylinder is 15/16" diameter for the front and rear brake cylinders. The 84-87 master cylinder is 1". So if you install an 84-87 in an 88 there will be modestly more pedal effort and modestly less travel. I had an 88 where a repair shop installed an early model MC and I didn't know it. I thought the brakes worked fine.

You Have Two Options:
Repair-Rebuild the GM Unit OR Get an aftermarket unit which most are "Made in China."
IF you have the original Moraine / Delco Brake Master Cylinder (which the number 18010023 is stamped under the body) AND the bore is good: Repair / Rebuild Kit - GM 18010083 (eBay) Reservoir and Grommets Kit – GM 18014328 (or Cardone 1R-2755)
IF you want an aftermarket unit, Centric Brake Master Cylinder 130.62030 is make of aluminum which is better than cast iron: Summit says "Only 5 left in stock - order soon" VN
