I ordered brackets and a flywheel from FieroRog, who said "the flywheel is ready to be go just bolt it on correctly". I need advice on installing it because I couldn't find much information online about installing a flywheel on a 3800. I don't want to make a $200 mistake, so I want to double-check before proceeding. My car is a 1987 GT with a 3800 S3 swap and an F23 transmission.
It maybe self doubt, but up to this point I thought I knew how to put 8 bolts into a flywheel and torque it down.

I thought the same when I torqued my flywheel to the 3800sc and promptly snapped off 1 bolt head in the process. I haven't been a fan of Torque to Yield bolts since. If I had to do it over, I'd use a standard bolt and torque it to spec. Perhaps add a bit of Loctite just in case. Yes I know wet torque vs dry but It worked on my Pontiacs 428,421 & 400's with much more hp than a 3800sc. 4k-rpm clutch dumps and never lost a flywheel.

When I was at that point in my swap, I confused my self by reading every thread on the subject. It was either bolt wasnt tight enough and worked its way out and destroyed the clutch, or was too tight and a head snapped off and destroyed the clutch. I went with mil spec grade 10 and used red loctite and mfg specs for tightening. If that helps any. Got em at mcmaster carr
