Help! I pulled my 88 GT out of the garage this morning to go to my first car show. Everything appeared fine. Shut it off and went into the house to get ready. Came out, started fine, put it in reverse and the engine immediately shut off. Restarted fine put it back in gear and off again. Anytime I place the car in any gear the engine shuts off. Does anyone have any idea on what could be happening? Art Whitney

I think you're talking about an Automatic? And when you said "pulled my 88 GT out of the garage", this means that the car 'moved', but not now after? And the engine idles fine when in Park or Neutral, but stalls when put into gear?
You can start the engine in park/neutral and warm the transaxle fluid to see if it will move....
