1988 formula (Page 1/1)

Hey all been into fieros for since I was 14. I have owned a couple and currently have a 1988 formula fiero. My amazing wife ordered me parts off a GT years ago and I'm finally getting to have time to do the work I want to it.

My question is this due to information I had in the past when I owned a 4cyl 88.
Can I put the power doors from the gt onto the formula with little to no fuss. In the past I was told by other fiero guys that the wiring harness in the 88s was the same across the board so all you have to do is fish the plugs ends out to where you need them and get them all plugged in and it's good to go. Also does anyone know where I can get the original harness plug for the center gauge pod.
Previous owner put digital gages and cut the plug off to do it and I want to take it back to the original.

Thanks guys.

Power windows is a sub harness and not included on non-power window applications. It must be added to the car from a donor. It is easier to swap the power window guts from a donor door than to swap doors (requires swapping doors skins and removing mirrors). Here is a writeup that details out the swap:

Like FieroGuru said... it's not that difficult, and everything basically plugs into a power-block hidden under the driver's side door. It's basically a relay (or two, can't remember), and the harness that goes in the center console, and connects to the two doors and then back to the power block. If you already have the doors with the motors and everything on them, then yeah, you can simply just move them over.

Personally though, I would use this as an opportunity to grease the channels, replace the strips, etc... and it might just be easier to fit new or replacement parts into the donor door, rather than having to swap the doors.

By the way, I recently moved from San Antonio. Loved living there. I lived North off 281 in Encino Park.

Just to be sure I understand. If have the gt door complete already from another car I would still need to source another wiring harness that handles the power doors?
Correct?

Yes.
You have the doors with the motors and hardware, but your car does not have the needed harness or switches to control the window motors. You still need to source the harness and switches.

Sorry forgot to mention I have all the switches as well.
But thank you for the information ay least I know I have to look for the harness now.
