How to disable TCC lock-up solenoid (Page 1/2)

Car is down and the part is a couple weeks away, what and how can I bypass this and will there be any issues driving at highway speeds to and from work? Pictures and/or layman's term would help, I'm not very car-savvy.

Let it cool off and unplug it, if I recall it's a blue connector down on the front / left side of the case

Just unplug the trans and make sure the plug and wire can't move and hit the exhaust etc.

Blue plug on Front of unit should see from above.

Downsides:
The Trans will get hotter because no TC locking.
Will eat more Fuel and engine rev's 200-300RPM higher all the time.

Many hate TC before TCC feature became standard will hate more because TC design change to more torque boost expect to lock at higher speeds that eliminate TC function.

IMO the easiest way to disable the TCC is to disconnect the TCC switch on the brake pedal. It's located above the brake light switch. I can't easily get to the TCC connector on the transmission from above.

In the front or the back? I appreciate the replies but I just don't get unplugging the trans, what case has a blue connector or the front of what unit means. Will I need to take the rear driver's side wheel off and access the panel behind it or can I just pop a bonnet and reach in?

Should be able to do it from the top looking down the front of the transaxle

With the drivers side rear wheel off and the rubber splash shield ( if that still exists) you should be able to look in at the front of the transaxle and see a connector plugged in pointing to the front of the car. It's a square 4 wire blue connector, the only one plugged into the transaxle in there. The connector at the top rear is your Range switch, do not unplug this.

I'm surprised that no one has seemed to take any notice of/interest in this suggestion. Would it not do the trick?

I know for certain it will properly disable the TCC because my TCC was not operation and just this last weekend I traced the problem to this switch (by the way, if you're clever you can rebuild this switch. I also discovered that last weekend). Besides, the wiring schematics show it to be a series element.

I just thought it was a faster/easier way to disable the TCC because you don't have to do anything else but reach under the dash and unplug it. To each his own, I guess.
