Part Question (Page 1/1)

So I located this cable hanging from the rear of my vehicle and don't know what it is, where it goes and why is disconnected? Also was a loose bolt that was laying inside the engine compartment. Car starts and runs fine. At the time I was disconnecting the TCC Solenoid to see if it solves my issue with overheating and shutting down. All I did was unclip the TCC connector and while I was under, I noticed these as well.

Anyone recognize these?

1st picture looks like what's left of your broken 02 sensor!
2nd: no idea?

As has already been stated... yes, that's what's left of your O2 sensor. Is your Check Engine light not working?

Thanks, that's exactly what it was. My check engine light was coming on. But I've been having the stall issue when driving a few miles then the car will stall at a stop sign or traffic signal. Looks like I've narrowed that down to the TCC Solenoid. Deciding whether to try unplugging it and not worrying about it, or replacing it. Car is not a daily driver. Just weekends and car shows.

There's a good chance that checking the Trouble Codes would've pointed you in the right direction.

Running without a functioning TCC Solenoid will only make any overheating issue worse (due to higher engine RPM while cruising). If your engine is actually overheating, that needs to be resolved as well.

lean condition from lack of O2 would make it run hotter right?

I'd suspect that no O2 sensor signals would result in an overly rich "limp" mode... but I certainly don't know for sure.

More air=lean

Lack of O² would be rich.

Lean does run hotter.

i was for some reason thinking along the lines of the ECU being stuck on whatever the last o2 signal was, and if it was reading a bit richer at the time, get stuck on that, it would be trying to lean out constantly. dont ask my why haha
