Hey everyone, I have been trying to replace the CV axle seals, but as most of you probably know to do that one needs to seperate the rear bj from the knuckle. Mine is beyond stuck and I need ideas. It came down about half way pretty easily, but since then I have spent many hours on it and it has not budged. I have tried using a pickle fork, crowbar, 12 pound sledgehammer, torch, wedging a screwdriver in between the crack in the stud, mallets, hammers, jacks, pb blaster, solid wacks at key areas, and just about every way of leveraging some pry force that I can think of. Are there any tips or tricks out there or should I keep wacking it until something happens? Below are some pictures of my plight. Thanks in advance for the advice

The jack on your Hub / knuckle is causing a misalignment issue. With a long pry ( I use a 4 foot bar ) pry down on the control arm and push the knuckle / strut in towards the car.

Oh my that makes total sense. I had noticed it seemed like the bj wasn't perpendicular with the knuckle. I will try that prying. Since I have heard it is good to jack it up to keep weight off the control arm, what should my jacking point be?

I've never had to jack the knuckle / strut up to separate a balljoint

Any ball joint let it hang free, add tension w a prybar, while under tension smack w a sledgehammer, comes right off. If not from smacking the side, put the nut on so the tops flush w the bolt and smack that.

Obviously the guy has his car supported, look at his pics what magician can put the jack under the hub BEFORE he removes the wheel? this forum................... every one wants to jump in and be a hero and not use common sense.....
He is asking where to jack the hub/ strut assembly. NO no need for that.

I'll try that as well. The rear ones however don't have a bolt going through the top so I'll have to hit from the side.
