So I bought a replacment AC compressor, and installed, then replaced it back with the original, over again for a total of four times now trying to solve the AC puzzle. In fact, I've gotten it down to a science to remove the compressor. It's almost one of the little things that makes home feel like home. Have an evening coffee, replace the AC compressor in the Fiero. It's honestly not so bad. The reason why I've done this is I'm trying to figure out what component is keeping the AC clutch from kicking in, as I don't prefer to hardwire it with a toggle switch.
My system holds a vacuum and everything but I discovered a problem: the AC clutch is never getting voltage and thus it never kicks on. With neither compressor will it ever kick on. I have plugged and unplugged everything, the fuse is fine, the relay clicks, and when you push the AC buttons the radiator fan kicks on and it selects the correct vent so the climate control panel is working.
But it never sends power to the AC clutch. Does anyone know of other components that could stop it from receiving power? It's not that it kicks on and then off, its that it wont kick on at all. Never, not in any circumstance.

check the wiring at your AC relay, those relays in the engine compartment are no stranger to the wires or wire at the connector of failing. Do a continuity test from the relay connector to the compressor clutch connector. Generally wires themselves don't fail but the connections do.
How are you charging your AC system?
