Needing Assistance Identifing Unconnected Plugs (Page 1/1)
Fieros4evr JUL 21, 10:24 AM
Hello All,

I bought a 1987 Fiero, 4 Cyl Iron Duke 5 Spd. I found these unconnected plugs/wires in the hood compartment and I have no idea where they connect or their specific purpose. The previous Fiero owner didn’t know either. The first photo is a connector located near the clutch slave cylinder area and the other wires/plugs in the other photos were from a wire cluster near the right side of the TBI facing the engine bay. Any help identifying these would be appreciated. Thanks!

1 & 3 look like AC Compressor plugs. 1 for the clutch 3 for limit switches.
2 O2 sensor.

4 link is "dead" because posted wrong somehow and I'm not trying to guess.

you change order... Now...
1 purple O2 sensor
all others for AC compressor. Flat one Clutch, Others Limit Switches.

Number 4 is for the A/C compressor clutch.

Thank you for responding theogre.I noticed too errors with my ad.Since that happened, I will explain separately. This image is a plug near the clutch slave cylinder

These images tie to the wire cluster and each image are all on a small wire cluster near the TBI:

Flat connector to clutch... The small "barrel" on wire side is a Diode.

This Diode Must Work when connected and clutch is On or when Clutch turns Off the Power Surge from the Clutch Coil can Kill other electric parts.

The Surge is Negative 700 volts or more and can "blow thru" the Relay and kill other things.

Because plug wires go to ground and AC relay. Standard Diode Test on any Ω meter will show working or not.

You can replace the Diode by getting a "kit" that plugin between coil and OE plug.
Diode is maybe 1N4007 1000v or even higher volt breakdown.

Thank you for the info regarding the diode. I have an update to this ad: So I found the O2 sensor and I had to laugh when I saw it. The connector melted on the top edge of the motor. I will have an update with the compressor soon.

O2 plug is standard 1 pin Weather Pack shell.
If other half is good, a new O2 sensor have the other half.

God knows how old the Sensor is. New one can help many problems even have no "code" set by ECM.
