88 GT front control arm bushings (Page 1/1)
JOE 4RE JUL 21, 01:43 PM
I'm getting ready to order front control arm bushings for my '88 GT. Searching for the Moog K6170 & K6163 bushings they now crossover to Mevotech part numbers MK6170 & MK6163. When I do a fit verification on the MK 6163 it says they WILL fit an '88 GT but on the MK6170 bushings, it says they WILL NOT fit the '88, but do fit an '87 GT.

So my question is will the MK6170 bushings fit the '88 or not... and if they won't fit, what do I use instead??

Thanks...

I might be wrong here but I am pretty certain that the front control arm bushings are all inter changeable meaning the earlier front control arm bushings will in fact fit onto an 88. I strongly believe they do from memory, the only difference was in ( lost for the proper term) elasticity of the rubber used. At this point of vehicle live span, we care more about what works.

Fiero front control arm bushings are the same for all years.

Good luck finding a set of control arm bushings. I'm currently replacing my upper & lowers only due to age. I try to stick with Moog. Got luckyon the Lowers. The uppers could not be found anywhere even under other brands and no-namers. Rock Auto finally listed a set of uppers and I'm waiting on them now. Ebay crooks jumped on the band wagon and one seller showed a Moog box with pic of 1 upper bushing. I ask is this a set and he said no and on the box was written a #2 giving the impression he was selling a set.
I also tried Napa and all the other heavy hitters, Mom & Pop, etc. with no luck.

Good luck on your search.

I know that the Prothane poly bushings fit all years of Fiero front arms. I would have to believe that the stock replacements are the same - as others have already posted.
Good luck with yours.
