Been working on getting my ac running, I’m at the final stage of wiring and about to wire up the compressor. There’s a plug by the pulley with a green wire and a ground. That’s what connects to the green wire on the ac relay, correct?
My other question, the compressor has 2 sensors/switches on the back of it. I thought those ports would be plugged? They have 2 wires each. What are they supposed to be wired to? My understanding is you just need the high pressure sensor in the line? I’ve wired up everything else according to Darth Fiero’s instructions: ac request and ac power from c203 and everything needed between the ac relay and pcm.[This message has been edited by sdgdf (edited 07-21-2023).]

Ok well now, the car has a Fiero compressor. Will it work fine just ignoring those switches and with the compressor wired up just like if I had a 3800sc compressor in there?
Also, what about putting in a 3800sc compressor? Do the bolts and pulley line up the same? I don’t want to have to fabricate a bracket. And I’m assuming the ac hoses need a different end to fit the 3800sc compressor?

No, If you have the Fiero Compressor Wire it up as a Fiero. If you want to use a 3800 compressor probably easiest to use an 04-07 compressor as no brackets needed it will bolt directly to the block. the 3800 Compressor is easiest to wire up, only one switch added into the Compressor to chassis hose, if your harness was made right those connectors are hopefully still present.

I wouldn't even know how to do that. I've been following Darth Fiero's guide on how to wire up the compressor with it being controlled by the PCM and I'm like 98% done. Old threads seem to indicate you can control the Fiero compressor the same way. The PCM just looks at the high pressure sensor, and the a/c request signal, and sends the signal to the a/c relay to turn the ac compressor on and off. Only wire I have left to hook up is the one from the a/c relay to the green wire by the compressor clutch.
I don't trust my compressor though. I just had black death on my S10 and that wasn't fun. The compressor looks old. No idea why the previous owners who did the swap would want the Fiero compressor when the engine likely came with a compressor. They went to all this trouble to get or make a bracket and swapping the pulley so the Fiero compressor would fit. With how it was wired before you'd pressurize the system and no ac so they didn't finish wiring it.
So I'd go for either replacing it with a new Fiero compressor, or a 3800SC compressor. You say the 04-07 compressor just bolts right up? I can take off this bracket that's adapting the Fiero compressor to fit, and 3800SC compressor will bolt right in at that spot?
This engine is from a 2000 Grand Prix and to make a 2000 compressor work I might need a bracket from one of these series II 3800's?
Does Darth Fiero post much anymore? He would know for sure with all this.[This message has been edited by sdgdf (edited 07-22-2023).]
