Fuel injector? (Page 1/2)
GeorgeT AUG 11, 09:15 AM
So I recently bought a fiero, got it starting and it was redlining when idle. So I was investigating and saw that fuel was pouring out of the injector. Replaced all of the vacuum lines and still nothings changed. Could this be the TPS? Or something else? There is a YouTube link showing my issue: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4sGP-YyXeBs
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

The Spray pattern is probably correct for that RPM, What I see is the Fuel pressure Regulator cover gasket leaking, that will cause a vacuum leak leading to high idle and incorrect fuel pressures

Where about are you in NS? I may have a few complete throttle bodies still.

I might be able to get one dropped off to you soon, I want nothing for it.

It’d be better to meet in Amherst if that’s be ok?
And it would fit an 1986 iron duke 4cyl?

Good eye!

Should also mention... nice clear sharp video by the OP.

Ignore injector spray.
High idle is something else wrong and fuel matches air to run like that.

The TBI need a "rebuild kit" to fix the fuel leak. The kit has all gaskets, other soft parts & F-regulator diaphragm.
Used TBI sitting on a self for months/years may need same.

Besides TBI problems can still have vac leak. see that @ https://web.archive.org/web...cast.net/~fierocave/

So I’ve tightened the torx screws on the fuel meter body and the revs have come down to 3k rpm so I’m assuming it’s the gaskets causing the rest of the leaks if I’m correct? Thanks for the responses saved a lot of time and money
