Bought a 84 started going through things and the a/c had a hole so I bought a new a/c hose, compressor with new vavles and accumulator. Put it all together did vacuum added freon got it charged up but it doesn't kick in. Anybody has idea what could be the problem

Did you add oil, how much and what type, assuming you used R-134A, how much? Did you also replace the orifice tube?

If it held a vacuum is charged up, how much refrigerant was put in? if the system is full the pressure switches should close the circuit for the Clutch control relay to close. I would probably start looking at the Clutch control relay and more specifically the wiring to the connector, this day and age those wires are prone to break / corrode at the connector.

Maybe you could respond in your threads... including This one from a month ago.

Glad you said something. I was going to mention it on his next thread. He never replies to any of his own posts. Pretty rude for those who do the legwork for him and don't even get a thank you or a report back whether it works.

I've seen more of members these days (new and old) which don't 'close the loop'!

Maybe it's a 21st century thing but to me, I stopped responding members who won't follow up after getting 'free help' on the forum.

I'm sorry if anyone feels I'm being rude I'm not trying to hurt their feelings. I haven't done any follow-up so I can't comment on who's the one that nailed it. But let me say thanks to all of you who took the time to attend to my problem and give their opinions. I am grateful. You guys rock.

When someone disappears for a month after starting a thread, yet starts two other threads in the meantime, it doesn't look good.

And it's not a matter of "hurt feelings", it's a matter of common courtesy... which appears to be a disappearing facet of modern culture.
