AC choice (Page 1/1)

I'm doing a 3800SC swap into an '88 GT. My dilema at the moment is which AC compresor to use.
My GT has an odometer at 192xxx. My donor is a 2002 Regal GS at 50xxx. The issue about which to use stems from the fact that I have about 15 pounds of R12
left over from ancient days.
Would it be advisable to use original Fiero equipment? Or would it be better to get hoses made and convert to 134 and use the Regal compressor?
Is there a performance issue to consider?
I understand the Regal compressor is designed to work with a SC. Is R12 better than 134?
Thanks for you input.

I swapped in a 2000 GTP and decided to use the compressor that came on it. #1 it's already mounted to the engine with a bracket. Later versions did away with the bracket and those are mounted directly to the 3800 block. Also no need to figure out what compressor pulley to use or belt. I had a forum member make the hoses to adapt to the Fiero lines. That's as far as I got but there is an orrifice that needs changed and the compressor is controlled by the ECM. Other will chime in with all the details, but that was my decision.
