Hello again! I am here with another question. About 10 years or so back I added all LED bulbs in my rear with a resistor only on the right side. It all worked well. Now that I have upgraded the both front and side markers to all LED i dont have a left turn signal, which makes me think it has to be because of the resistor I have on the passenger side. I swapped out a normal bulb, and even replaced the front socket with a new one, the signal is fine with normal bulb. So my question is, where do i add the resistor on the driver side wires? There was a build that I followed off this, but dont have a search option to look it back up. I want to add it to the rear only because there is more room for this, the passenger side is hooked up to the green wire in a loop. Any thoughts or tips is always appreciated! Thanks guys!

Even if ignored is Illegal... You don't need or want resistors. They Eat Power and Heat Up often causing more problems because not installed right.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. I replaced all my exterior lights with LED and found myself without turn signals. The blinkers in the dash need to be replaced with ones off Amazon that are made for LED. Fixed my setup.

I replaced all my taillight bulbs with direct fit LED lamps. The lights are now brighter and in a small car like a Fiero I believe its now safer. It looks more like a newer car that uses LED lights. While I didn't have to I also replaced the flasher with a solid state unit. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I have LEDs installed front, rear and side markers. Are you using a signal flasher designed for LEDs? Your local parts store will have them. The one I use is United Pacific part number 90650. No resisters required in the circuit. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I installed front LEDs, and replaced the turn signal flasher with an electronic flasher. The original design is a thermal flasher, which requires a large amount of electricity to go through it to heat up and essentially trip a breaker, which resets and then breaks again, creating the flashing. Problem is with LEDs, they don't draw enough power to heat it up and "trip the breaker" so you need to replace it with an electronic flasher designed for LEDs. Those use a form of timer to flash the lights, which means that it will work regardless of how much or little power is going through them.

The only lights anywhere in my 88 GT that I are not LEDs are the turn indicators in the dash (those need to flow current in both directions with some resistance or the front side msrkers won't flash). All except the headlights are direct replacements. I changed both the turn signal and emergency flashers to solId state ones with constant flash rates. I have no added resistors and everything works quite well.
I did have to change the socket on the right front turn signal/parking light. LEDs are more sensitive to resistance in the ground paths because of their much higher effective resistance. I also replaced the dimmer for the dash lights. The stock one works fine with my LEDs but the original was worn in spots fromdecades of dimming relatively high current incandescent lamps.

Put a led ballast on the front turn signal circuit. I had to put one on each signal bulb circuit. It solved the problem and I no longer get the ghost arrow on my instrument panel.

Do you mean a updated flasher? I already replaced my cluster with LED, prior to this and had no problems until I did the fronts.

Thanks for all the info guys. Had to work a long day, stopped and got the updated flasher relay for the dash, I hope this works because I want to take out the resistor that I added 10 years ago or so, Also some one asked am i using a LED designed to be a flasher, Yes I am. Its a two part LED its normal white until the signal is activated and it switches to yellow. The clear combo with the HID headlights looks sharp a bit more modern.
