Does anybody know if it is possible to remove the outer door panel in a junkyard with no power to roll the window down? I found one and can't get to the mirror bolts due to window being up. Maybe I should just buy the whole door?

Not possible without ripping up the skin.
You have the right idea. Buy the whole door but you should still run the glass down to protect it. Take a motorcycle battery and run the glass down. Then you can get the skin off.

I like the idea of taking a battery with you. Does your house have an alarm system? It probably has a 12 volt battery that you could "borrow"

You mean you can't do what other people do at junkyards? Lean on the mirror until it snaps off or take a hammer and smash the window to get it out of your way?
Now of course, I'm kidding. Every part is like a goldmine on these cars and to be honest, I'd take the glass out and buy that too.[This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 08-30-2023).]

depending on the cost - just buy the whole door.
It's not difficult to get the window to go down. The connector is on the side wall. The two wires are the biggest in the harness. If one way doesn't work, just flip the connection and it should.

I figured I would need to bring a battery, I have a few small ones. I thought about breaking the window but couldn't stand the thought of it. They want about $130 for the door if it has the window switch, window regulator etc. Is that a decent price? All I really need is the upper outside panel. Mine is split from handling it without using the handle.
Worst case I can try and reinforce it with fiberglass or plastic welding it if possible.

If you have a cordless drill (12-18 volts) just use it's battery and some jumper wires. I use some test leads with alligator clips on the ends (reverse polarity if the window moves up).
Larger battery will also work, just the window will move faster. lol[This message has been edited by Mickey_Moose (edited 08-31-2023).]

The cool thing would be is to put the window back up after your done so the interior doesn't get any more ruined than it will for the next guy
