DISCLAIMER: This is an AI generated response. It may produce inaccurate information about people, places, or facts.
Unfortunately, I cannot view the picture you mentioned. However, I can provide some general information about the door ajar switch for a Pontiac Fiero. The door ajar switch is typically located on the drivers side pillar frame. It can be identified by a 15mm nut and a single wire connector that grounds the switch. If the switch is broken and you are unable to find it for sale at Fiero Store or NAPA, it may be challenging to track down the exact part number. It is recommended to contact Pontiac or a Pontiac Fiero specialist for further assistance in finding the correct replacement switch.Click to see AI response

Maybe can use this in https://www.fiero.nl/forum/.../HTML/144333.html#p1
Is mostly metal to ground whatever to turn on.
Not sure about PN but see this version way more including later Fiero. Don't know is same "nut" thread size as your version.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. (Jurassic Park)

Dreaded Door Ajar Light by Billygoat (Jan 2013 Thread)

If you have to replace a door switch, maybe this will be helpful....
I recently (a week ago) needed to replace one of my door ajar switches on my 88GT, but finding one wasn't simply. FStore doesn't carry them and the Fiero Parts catalog doesn't address them by part number.
After a bit of research I found that the switch could be replaced by one used on some early model 90's' Bonnevilles & Cadillacs, the only differance being the wires connector plug was differant (Female Connector). This can easily be replaced by splicing the old connector on.( If its in good shape)
Here are some good part numbers from two manufactures. ACdelco# D6042 -Door Ajar RH ACdelco# D6043 -Door Ajar LH AIRTEX / WELLS Part# 1S1137 -Door Ajar RH AIRTEX / WELLS Part# 1S1572 -Door Ajar LH

⚠️ Note: Top Pictures are Not Ajar Switches for Fiero and Most others. Only used by Dome lights as a Switch to Ground to Turn On. Those are often called Jam Switches and other names because screwed in the Door Jams.
E2A--> The Hood and early Trunk use have other type I pictured above to Turn On lights in either spots when have those Options and to Turn On the Ajar Light too.
Numbers in Orig88GT-NC post Are Ajar Switches to Turn On the Ajar Light and fit Inside of Door on the Latch Assembly. And Will Not fix your problem.[This message has been edited by theogre (edited 09-03-2023).]

The Indy's "courtesy light" door jamb switch is in the forward door jamb. That's what everyone is posting, but they should be usable too.

I see... I Rarely see 84-85 car to look at them. Is likely a "fancy" jam switch to prevent snags on cloth etc.
The Jam Switch I linked works the same but May Not fit there. Not sure if the Nut will clear right even if the Sleeve adjust correctly first time you shut the door.[This message has been edited by theogre (edited 09-03-2023).]

The switch is black so it blends in with the black door frame. And the smooth plunger prevents clothing snags as you suggested.
NW-Fiero's best bet is parts from someone with an 84-85 parts car. Lots around. He should post a "looking for" ad in The Mall.
Nearest wrecker to him is in Lynnwood, WA (430 miles is to me, not him)
