I used these axles in my Indy at the time I swapped in a 4T60 4-speed automatic.

Both the right and left axle assemblies for a 1989 Pontiac 6000 (with 2.8 V6, 4T60 and light duty brakes w/o ABS) were purchased.
There are plenty of other combinations of parts that can be used to assemble DIY axles that will fit, but this was the simplest solution for me.
These have the correct mating ends for the transmission and the 20mm diameter spindle to match the Fiero hubs.
They can be purchased off the shelf at most auto parts stores and install directly without modification.

Part numbers
A1 CARDONE PN 601078 - LEFT side drive axle (21-inches long overall)
A1 CARDONE PN 601115 - RIGHT side drive axle (26.25-inches long overall)

Others would have to chime in on what other 4-speed auto transmission variants would need for axles.

Its been a while since we did swaps here. But I recall that the R and L axles for the 3800SC /4T65eHD swaps were nearly identical lengths. On the 4.9Lcad/4T60 swap I recall the passenger side being about 1" longer. From memory check out the axles used on the Chevrolet Cavalier w 4 speed. Axle length will also be dependent on mounts used. I always used WCF mounts that placed the powertrain about center. Other mounting systems may differ.

If you are installing the 4T60, for most mounts used it is the Stock Fiero Automatic Drivers side axle on the drivers side and a stock Fiero Manual drivers side axle on the passenger side.

so the spline count is different on both sides of a 4t60?since manual fiero axles have more splines?

Everything about the 4T60 transmission swap is here, including information on the axles.
If you don't want to piss around finding and dismantling 2 sets of axles, just buy the Pontiac 6000 axles from RockAuto.
