I don't believe so. I think the angles or length of the mounting arms are different and the reclining hardware also bolts on. However, if your padding is in good condition, you can swap the seat cover from one side to the other. It doesn't matter what years. All are the same, except the 88 can have the lumbar support bladder in it.

It'll bolt up, but it will only work as a passenger seat.
The bottom frames are identical, except for the presence - or absence - of holes in the sides of the bottom skin, but the hinge brackets on the upper are a bit different.
The fabric is also a bit different, but not greatly noticeable. (The 87 has a "wiggle weave". The 88 just has a fine "grid" pattern.)

If you want to go to the trouble of removing the covers, all covers will fit all seats. "Which side" doesn't matter.
