1987 front wheel bearing dust cap bottoms out. (Page 1/1)

i put new raybestos front rotors on and the dust caps bottom out.its hitting the end of the spindles not the cottor pin.the caps aren't smashed.i ordered replacement dust caps.i hope they fit better.i wonder if the distance between the bearing races are shorter in the raybestos rotor.

How much thread is past the nut when adjusted. It should be close to the same on old vs new. If not then probably wrong rotor. sleek

Make a tool to install the caps w/o smashing them out of 1.5" plastic pipe.

How you install wheel bearing matter. Preload or too loose & bearing Will Fail & not just for Fiero.

i didn't measure it before.never had to before.i did try the bearings in the new races.perfect fit.

i bought new dust caps at napa.they seem to clear.mr ogre tool idea worked great.
