When accelerating from a stop there's a point early-on where it seems to lose power or bog a tad. I have to either release the accelerator slightly or apply pressure get off the dead spot. How can I determine what is wrong?

Quite possible it's a bad spot inside the TPS. It can be checked a couple of different ways, which have been described here numerous times.

Come on Patrick. You know you are supposed to do the searching for them...
From the little bit of information posted. I think there is a possibility that it could be the TPS. But check it first, don't just spend money buying parts.

Especially when new parts can be bad right out of the box.
