differences in notchback tail light harnesses? (ground) (Page 1/1)

I'm working on a blue 87SE that was originally a v6 5 speed car, the wiring harness for the tail lights was cut in half. i have several tail light harnesses in my storage building so i found another notchback harness that matches up almost the exact same except it has no trunk blower wiring (which i'm fine with as the car will be engine swapped) but it also does not have the ground on the frame rail on the passenger side up behind the rear clip. I'm not sure if thats an 87 thing only? but the harness that i'm installing has the ground on teh C203 connector. I'm sure that i can add the frame ground at a later date *IF* the C203 connector ground doesnt work. but i'm curious what years had that frame mounted ground it even clips into the frame and also has a 7mm bolt. i've only parted out a few 84's over the years so i doubt its an 84 harness i'm using (seeing as it plugs in at normal location for the 85-88's) i'm guessing i've got a 4cyl tail light harness, or an 88 harness seeing as it doesnt have the trunk blower motor wiring? (it does have cruise wiring though)

IIRC, the 87-88 models had the taillight harness ground running through the C-500 connector, and the actual grounding point on the right rear top of the center console.

87 taillights grounds same as others, hidden screw inside body over tire. You need to pull down inner fender just to see when installed.

the harness i removed had the ground over the passenger rear fender well (but was cut right near the C203 connector, the entire harness) so i replaced it with another harness (from a 4cyl i presume as there is no aux blower wiring on the passenger rear corner) however the ground for this tail light harness is in the connector at the C203, not on the inner fender well. so i'm unsure what year or model the harness is from. if the tail lights dont work then i suppose i'll just add in a ground for them. i've just never encountered this as the rest of my cars are all 87/88's and lots of 86GT's (no 84-85 models currently)
