no fuel pump noise (Page 1/1)

replaced fuel pump 1984 2,5 ,tested out of car pumped great, put it back in no pump,applied battery to plug sounds lkie its pumping, pulled fuel line from throttle ,applied juice sounds like it pumps but no fuel from line. replaced ecm no different. tested lead with test light,for juice , very faint ?checked ground at battery and has ground cable from block to hidnge. no sound from pump with key on, checked all fuses. Anything I missed? Thanks

Does car have AC?
If so switch FP & clutch Relays in engine bay.

If FP Works then, Get new relay(s) for them but disconnect the "dead" relay in meantime.

Other relay(s) in 84 is for taillights & I'm told won't fit the plug from F-pump but never had 84 to see.
(Relay just Turns On 3rd Brake/Turn filament on each side.)

Without trying to decipher where/how you've tested the fuel pump, applying 12v to the fuel pump terminal of the ALDL port bypasses a lot of things including the relay. The pump should run, and it should be supplying 9-13 PSI.
