2 Speed to Single Speed Fan Switch (Page 1/1)
BruhMans06 NOV 29, 11:19 AM
So ive run into an issue as I was reinstalling my wiring harness onto my 2.5. I had to replace the engine I had since the person who owned it before me caught the engine on fire, and the replacement i bought is a 1985 engine. I haven't had any issues with the electronics since I swapped the distributor and other miscellaneous electronics that are specific to the 1984 engine.

So i need a new fan switch, and its a 2 speed since my car is an 84' 2m4 with AC, but the cable looks weird and the switch also looks weird. I cant seem to find a 2 speed switch that will fit the plug but i can find tons of single speed switches.

Is there an easy way to convert it to a single speed, or is there a place i can find a 2 speed switch?

Thanks much!

Hi James, I could be wrong, but what you're looking at is actually the engine temperature sensor, not the fan switch. The fan switch (sensor) looks like this for all years:

What you probably need is this from the Fiero Store, so you can use the newer sensor: https://www.fierostore.com/...px?s=61899&d=169&p=1

But if you want to get the original sensor for the 84 model year, you can get that here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=941150

Yes, Above is not a fan switch or gauge/light sender.

Is ECM sensor & installed wrong. That Sensor need to be in T-stat tube.

84 Rad Fan uses 2 switches. See https://web.archive.org/web.../~fierocave/fans.htm

The 2-speed fan switch for the 84 Fiero is unique (and hard to find?)

On my 84 Indy I changed to a single speed switch like the later years.

I wired the switch to the Lt Green/Black wire (left other disconnected at switch)
