Short Stack Intercooler Questions (Page 1/1)

I am looking to get a ZZP short stack intercooler installed and was wondering how everybody wires the pump up? That is probably the worst part of all of this, so any explanation is appreciated. I saw in Dennis LaGrua's install thread that he used a relay, but looking at the ZZP instructions they make no mention of needing one. Just ground the pump and tap into some sort of key on source. Thoughts? Any pictures would help as well.

I also need a heat exchanger still. Is the ZZP dual pass too big? Referencing the same thread from Dennis he mentioned 26" wide was about the widest that will fit, but this thread mentions a 31" one works.

And finally - does everyone running an intercooler do the dime/tap and drill trick on the UIM coolant ports that go into the supercharger/throttle body? Does anyone remove material from the crossover area in the rear after doing this? Any coolant flow problems from blocking the ports and not opening up that rear portion?

Also looking for some input on installing this intercooler fill kit - is it best to put it on the inlet side of the intercooler rather than on the output, so that the fill point sees cooler fluids coming out of the heat exchanger? I assume I have to put this as high as possible in the engine bay so that it is the high point of the system?

Bump! Anybody out there with an intercooler that can help?
