Hey everyone,
So as I mentioned a few weeks back I'm nearing the finish line on my project. I'm currently going through sanding/prepping to paint a test/donor hood I got a few years ago. Short story is it looks like it was painted red, can't tell if original. PO said it was primed just needed to be scuffed and thrown into the booth for primer/paint.
I can tell you the condition claimed was not as what I got, not worried as I don't intend to put this hood on the car anyways. However I don't have any experience under my belt painting a car, let alone dealing with SMC.
I've done a fair amount of research as well as have the gm manual which seems to omit a fair amount of detail. My question is what colors should one expect to see on an SMC panel? The red was cracked all over leading me to believe it didn't have a flex agent or has been poorly treated over its life.
Thanks in advance,
Stingray

Black is the factory primer. White is the color of the SMC.
