I have an 87 4 cylinder / 5 speed. I have gotten the rally gauge pod from a parts car and I am trying to mount them on my center stack. I have the metal bracket that bolts onto the top of the center skeleton but it seems like there needs to be some cuts made into the center stack padding. I don’t want to make cuts without seeing what one of the center stacks looks like on a car with the rally pod option from the factory. If anyone knows what kind of modifications need to be made to the center stack padding that would be much appreciated!

I installed (aftermarket) gauges in the rally gauge pod on my 1985 Fiero.
This is how I brought the wiring from the gauges to the area behind the radio.
General view:
I cut a notch in the steel support piece and in the plastic skeleton:
Wiring is routed behind the HVAC control, with wires wrapped in tape to protect the tires from chafing:
