Strongarm 4428 gas strut (Page 1/1)

I purchased this strut hoping to put it on the deck lid of my 87 GT. I am having no luck in moving the "ram" at all. I can't move it up or down, and tried to rotate it slightly. Nothing .What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

check this out, and using straps to compress

If you followed this writeup, there should be no issues. Just make sure the strut is mounted in the right location for leverage.
