Yeah, I had to do a lot of homework/guesswork to find an appropriate ATF for my TH125, since there is no such thing as 'real' Dexron III any more. Some later ATFs state explicitly that they aren't compatible with Dexron III. But I've been using Castrol Transmax (claims compatibility with nearly everything, including Dexron III) since I got my '88 GT about 8 years ago now, and it's been just fine. It looks like that Valvoline MaxLife has similar description and specs out the same, so I think it should be fine, too.

That's what I thought. On the forum where I found this deal
https://slickdeals.net/f/17...smission-fluid-21-90
There was a lot of conversation with many people very happy with this product.
I definitely need a fluid change - last time I looked it was kind of a brown. I haven't driven it since.

If have trans problems now like oil smell/look burned then replacing oil the unit can Fail because of the new oil.
New oil can clean out whatever crap that's still making clutches & bands work.
Note old Oil not being Red Means Nothing. Red Dye can & often will fade.

I looked at this recently but didn't buy it yet. It explicitly mentions being compatible with Dexron III: https://www.walmart.com/ip/...id-ATF-1-GA/15125788
It's slightly cheaper but it's not synthetic. They also don't sell single quarts, so have to buy 2 jugs = 8 quarts and have a bunch left over. It's $2 cheaper if you order it for curbside pickup than if you go in the store. I guess they don't want people shopping in the store.
