87 sender & tank pluming for duke is made different & if you have gauge problems is likely NOT the sender cause it. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/146784.html Fuel, Engine Temp or Oil Pressure gauges have problems?
Pump w/ Low pressure is often Not the pump but crappy "rubber" line in the tank. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/146240.html J30R10 intank fuel hose.
Also see https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/146198.html Hidden Fuel and Coolant Leaks...
2.5 pump only makes ~ 20psi max on system only need 9-13psi.
Leave in if you're doing to swap soon but charge the sock as likely fail because 30+ years make it very easy to wreck working w/ tank problems.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. The sending units will work for either engine... but the fuel pumps will not. The 4 cyl has a much lower PSI fuel pump than the V6 does... and it's necessary to maintain normal fuel pressure for the TBI versus the MPFI system. But you can always drop it again and swap out the fuel pump if you need to.

Strange that Rodney does not state whether his fuel sender comes with a fuel pump intended for a 2.5 or for a 2.8 engine. Odd that he also mentions it's available without a fuel pump, yet there's no link for that unit.
[EDIT] Oh wait, it's all down at the very bottom of the page, below all the shipping info.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 03-13-2024).]
